Policy Submissions

September 12, 2014
Prepared by naae

Music Australia is part of an alliance of organisations advocating for arts education in Australian schools, the National Advocates for Arts Education (NAAE). Other members are: Australian Dance Council – Ausdance, Art Education Australia, Australian Society for Music Education, Australian Teachers of Media, Drama Australia, National Association for the Visual Arts.

NAAE members met recently with the Federal Arts Minister’s adviser, Michael Napthali. NAAE was pleased to hear that both Arts and Education Ministers (Arts Minister Brandis and Education Minister Pyne) agreed about the importance of arts education, and the centrality of the arts to a liberal education. NAAE members also affirmed six key points on arts education advocacy. Read the full NAAE statement here.
