Music Australia has issued an election statement outlining the key priorities for the contemporary music industry. The statement outlines the vital contribution the contemporary music industry makes to our national identity, economy, small businesses, jobs and tourism.

The key priorities and call to arms are:

  • Strengthen recognition for and investment in contemporary music as an art form
  • Arts portfolio to champion value of music industry across government
  • Introduce tax incentives as a structural reform to drive sector jobs and audience growth
  • Expand current investments including to National Live Music Office and Sounds Australia
