We were thrilled to see Music: Count Us In songwriting alumni celebrated at the Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) Awards. Frank Dixon and Tylah Winyard, both involved in writing the 2015 MCUI song, Gold, were honoured at the event, which exists to celebrate the art of songwriting and encourage the development of Australian songwriters.

Frank was nominated for the Rudy Brandsma award for Songwriting Excellence, came 3rd in the Open Division for Empire and came 5th in the Pop Division and 6th in the Youth Division for Hello World. Tylah’s song, Poppies, which she submitted to the MCUI competition, was nominated in the Australia category and placed 9th in Folk Acoustic.

We are always excited when young songwriters involved in Music: Count Us In go on to have further successes. The MCUI 2016 Songwriting Competition is now open for entries.
