Sing For Good, Australia’s biggest community singing competition, opened on 1 August. Open to singers of all levels, experience and styles, the project invites vocalists and choirs to upload a video of one of their performances. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite and in the process donate money to Creativity Australia’s “With One Voice” choir programme.

Entries across a diverse range of categories are welcomed, from standards like “Best Love Song” and “Best Original Sing” to more unconventional ones, including “Best Farmers’ Sing”, “Best Hospitality Sing”, “Best Surprise Sing” and “Best Health Ageing Sing”.

According to Sing For Good, the event “is not a talent quest. We’re not looking for the best singers. It’s all about joy, wellbeing and inspiration.”

A panel of “music-loving, community-minded judges” will assist in deciding upon the winners, who will be announced at the With One BIG Voice concert, to be held at Melbourne Town Hall on Sunday 8 November 2015. The deadline for entries is 31 October.
