James Power, the ex-booker of the Hi-Fi trio of venues, has re-launched his agency, Tiger Live, and taken on a new role as live booking director for the Melbourne Pub Group.

Mr Power has twenty years of experience as an artist manager and booker, six of which were spent at Hi-Fi. Through Tiger Live, he arranges concerts and events all over Australia. “We’ve relaunched, or revitalised, [the] Agency a bit,” he told The Music. “There’s a lot of things in the works, so there’ll be some exciting upcoming events in the coming weeks.”

The Melbourne Pub Group is one of the city’s most important hospitality and entertainment businesses, counting the Prince Bandroom, Cellar Bar and the Prince of Wales Public Bar in its portfolio.

“With Cellar Bar emerging as a high-end space for musicians and Bandroom and Public Bar already recognised as some of St Kilda’s top live music venues, hiring someone of James’ calibre will bring consistency across all of our entertainment venues,” said Tom Walker, director of the Melbourne Pub Group, in a media statement.
