Arts Budget – July Industry meetings galvanise sector
Two Sydney industry meetings on 2 and 3 July 2015 furthered the campaign responding to 2015/16 federal arts budget decisions. Organised as part of the #freethearts campaign, 150 people from the small to medium and major performing arts sector met to explore ways to work together to overcome key challenges.
And twenty members of ArtsPeak (confederation of national peak arts bodies of which Music Australia is a member) met with CEOs of the Australia Council and the federal Ministry for the Arts and called for new funding to the arts and encouraged responses to the draft guidelines for the new National Excellence in the Arts Programme.
